- Category 6 wiring
It is a standard twisted pair of cable for Ethernet. Cat 6 cables are backward compatible with Cat 5, 5e and even Cat 3 cables. Though this one has to satisfy more stringent conditions for crosstalk, its overall performance is better than those of Cat 5 cables. For optimum performance, Cat 6 wires have to be terminated identically from both ends.
- Category 6A wiring
Though these are also twisted pairs of cables, they are used when you need an enhanced performance. The frequency of these cables can reach up to 500MHz which is twice that of Cat 6 cables. Also, these wires can pick up high-level alien noises at high frequencies thus offering improved alien crosstalk.
